Toro might mean "bull" in Spanish but Toro wine is no bull. I had the pleasure of visiting this summer and was wowed even more. The local clone of Tempranillo called Tinta de Toro makes big, earthy and more tannic wines. than some of its more famous Spanish neighbors. Here are a few to try:

Spanish wine often gets overlooked and I don't know why. Their bottlings mostly drink at higher price points. A $15 bottle of Spanish wine outdrinks an American wine at the same price in most cases. At least that is my opinion. Here are a few to try:
